Maintenance

Its very good to take care of your paracord collars. They are very easy to take care of, but it's still important! For example: You can keep the colors beautiful and keep the paracord strong.
We want to share a few do's and don'ts. We'll also tell you what the easiest way to maintain your dogwear is and what the best tips are.
TIP 1. wash your dogwear
If your dogwear got dirty, that's no problem. It's easy to wash! When you're dogwear is covered in sand or mud, let it dry first and wash it after. You can wash it by hand or in the washing machine. We prefer washing it by hand, because then the risk of damage to the dogwear or washing machine is the smallest. In both ways you need to use a soft washing liquid to prevent the colors from changing.
- If you want to wash it by hand, use a soft brush. Don't let it soak in the water, as this might change the colors.
- If you want to wash it in the washing machine, use a strong laundrybag to prevent the dogwear or washingmachine from any damage. You can also throw in some extra towels to lower the risk of damage even more.
After washing, dry the metal hardware parts and let the collar dry. Don't let it dry on a heated space or in the sun. The paracord hardware get's very tough from that.
Tip 2. careful with sea adventures
Our dogwear is made for any adventure, including water. Playing in the water is a very nice activity and a lot of fun! However, salty water isn't so good for paracord dogwear. The salt causes the metal to erode, which causes it to get very sharp. Because of this, it could hurt your dog. To prevent this from happening, it is best to not wear our dogwear to the sea. It's very understable that you still want to go on adventures like this. The best option is to use a cheap or old collar.
TIP 3. Use a lighter if there is a fray
Our collars are expertly made from original American paracord. This means our dogwear has a good quality and is very strong. However, there is always a possibility of having a fray. This might happen for example if it accidentally got stuck behind something or because of rough playing with other furriends. There's no problem if you have a small fray and it is easy to fix. You can run a lighter along the fray. You'll notice it will shrink and disappear and problem solved! If you have any questions about this, let us know!
TIP 4. Don't use the dogwear as a toy
Our dogwear is made of the best paracord and has a very good and strong quality. Besides that, it looks very nice and colorfull. However, our dogwear is not meant to be a toy. That's why your dog shouldn't play with it as a toy. Using the dogwear as a toy might cause it to break, get frays or hurt your dog. Please only use it for having fun adventerous and happy walks.
tip 5. maintenance of metal hardware
We have chosen our metal hardware for a few good reasons. First of all, it's very easy to use! We understand that dogs are happy and enthousiastic to go on walks and adventerous. Having an easy collar might make this much easier for dogowners to get ready. We also prioritize strength, which definitely provides this metal hardware. The bigger the dog, the stronger it should be. That's why our larger collars have stronger and larger buckles. Another reason we choose for these buckles is the style. It looks fashionable, which we want for our dogs. There dogwear is their clothes, so it should look nice!
Although these are such good and nice buckles they need a tiny bit of maintenance. You might notice after a little while, that the buckle might get a little more stiff and difficult to snap on or off. Please use WD-40 and spray it in the buckle. Snap it on and off a few times and it will be as new!
